Getting Rid of Cellulite: How Essential Oils, Estrogen, Vitamins and Spicy Foods Can Play a Role

Cellulite occurs in both men and women, it is simply the deposition of fat subdermally. The difference in appearance between men and women is that histologically speaking fat in women is stored in chambers. The more fat that is deposited into these the more the chamber expands, since the walls of the chamber are 'anchored' to underlying tissues by inelastic 'straps' and as the chamber expands upwards and the straps resist stretching it causes a dimpling effect on the surface of the skin. Men do not have this problem as the fat is not stored in a similar fashion.

There are a number of natural ways to decrease the appearance of cellulite.

One can use essential oils, there are a number of excellent Essential Oil books available, The Fragrant Pharmacy by Valerie A Worwood is one, she suggest the following as the best oils to use topically, oregano, juniper, grapefruit, lemon, fennell, thyme, rosemary, sage, basil, one or several of these can be used in a carrier oil such as grapeseed or almond oil as 5% concentration and massage in once or twice a day after a hot bath, shower or exercise.

Diet is very important, avoid all estrogen containing foods, the biggest culprit being beer as the hops that it is made from is estrogen rich, little wonder that men develop beer belly's and their sperm count decreases all thanks to an excessive intake of this hormone.

Many severe cases can be reversed by an increased intake of vitamins and minerals, by simply including more raw vegetables including bean sprouts. Drink only spring or filtered water, add lemon juice or drink heaps of rosemary tea as this is a rejuvenating herb and also acts on the kidneys, which are now considered to be a regulatory and not excretory organ. Eating raw cabbage is also way of eliminating toxic debris within the body as is eating lots of lettuce with Italian dressing. All Vitamin B's are important.

The other approaches include spicy dishes such as Mexican and curries, and the drinking of certain herbal teas such as corn silk, cow slip and stinging nettle which is a rejuvenating herb. The information on these you may find in Maria Treben's book God's Pharmacy.
